Spreading Our Wings

Well we did it, we finally moved into college, after all the preparation and all of the heartfelt goodbyes, we are here. Now we have classes (that means homework) to take care of and clothes to wash, and of course, noisy neighbors to be annoyed with! Our neighbors are actually pretty awesome so far, and we hope they will be good friends for our entire college career. But, best of all, we get to say that we are part of the University of Oregon, and we go to classes with athletes the likes of LaMichael James. (Delany actually has a lecture with him, and Hanna saw him walking home, as well as Daren Thomas.) Classes are completely different than high school, yet the same, you still want to understand the teacher, and while you’re secretly interested in the subject, you don’t want to come off as a nerd, and you have to sit with the cool kids or with your friends. And while being away from home is fun, it’s also scary and uncomfortable when we want the safety net and realize that it’s not there. We are on our way to making it on our own, although we openly admit that we will need our parents for something forever, these are just the first steps to making it in the big time, but right now it’s time to just spread our wings and test the air.
